Viennese Schnitzel, mixed salad and wheat beer at Schnitzelwirt
If you visit Vienna, you have to eat Schnitzel at the legendary “Schnitzelwirt”. I guess a handful of guidebooks mention Schnitzelwirt – there are always a lot of American and Japanese guests there. You get extremely big portions for a good price (not uber cheap, but definitely not expensive) and the Schnitzels taste awesome.
Be sure to request a bag to take the leftovers of your Schnitzel home if you can’t eat up. If you are a mad man, you can eat a Schnitzel or Cordon Bleu plus Germknödel (dumpling filled with plum jam, served with custard or with poppy and melted butter) for dessert. Man, I love Austrian food.
You can find this restaurant at
Neubaugasse 52, 1070 Wien
Schnitzelwirt is closed on Sundays and public holidays.

I could eat schnitzel everyday. It is a bad addiction, especially when I’m in Germany or Austria. Great photo and now I’m hungry.
